WERA Visiting Researcher Award 2024 – Stefan Johansson

We are pleased to welcome Associate Professor Stefan Johansson from the University of Gothenburg as the WERA Visiting Researcher Awardee 2024. He will be at NIE/NTU from 4–22 April 2025, supported by WERA, ERAS, and CAE.

Prof. Johansson specializes in education research using large-scale datasets, focusing on teacher competence, student achievement, and validity in educational assessments. His recent work explores the alignment of PISA test scores with Sweden’s national test results and grades, considering student motivation.

During his visit, he will develop his research project with guidance from Associate Professor Nie Youyan (Psychology and Child & Human Development, NIE/NTU). Her expertise includes curriculum innovation, motivation in education, and self-regulated learning.

This award fosters collaboration, networking, and knowledge exchange between the visiting researcher and experts from NIE/NTU and the global research community.
